Engineering Entrance Exams

Entrance tests like Colleges like JEE (Main & Advanced), IIITs, NITs for Engineering in India are held every year in the months of April / May / June for the academic session commencing from July / August of the following year. The syllabus of the entrance test is based on the NCERT courses for class XI and XII.

Major Subjects covered for entrance exam:

  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Math

Apart from above subjects, some entrance testes also include English Proficiency & Comprehension, Logical & Quantitative Reasoning, General Knowledge/ General Aptitude/ General Ability/ Mental Ability, Current Affairs etc.

JEE (Main): is an examination organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India.

Introduced in the year 2002, this national level competitive test is for admission to various undergraduate engineering and architecture courses in institutes accepting the AIEEE score, mainly 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and 23 Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs).
The examination generally held in the first week of April. Candidates are ranked on an all-India basis and on a state basis. Thus, they get an All India Rank (AIR) and a State Rank (SR).

JEE (Advanced): is an annual engineering college entrance examination in India.

It is conducted by one of the seven zonal IITs (IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, and IIT Guwahati ) under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board(JAB). It is used as the sole admission test by the 23 Indian Institute of Technology (IITs). Other universities like the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISERs) and the premier Indian Institute of Science (IISc) also use the score obtained in JEE Advanced as the basis for admission.

VITEEE: Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam

VITEEE question paper consists of 3 parts – Part-I: Physics, Part-II: Chemistry and Part-III: Mathematics/Biology. Each part contains 40 questions with equal weightage. The total number of questions is 120. Each question carries 1 mark. Duration of test is 2.5 hrs. Max. Mark is 120. Test will be conducted in online mode.
